Price Sensitivity and Environmental Concerns Dominating Consumer Trends in 2025

01 July 2025

Consumer Trends

According to the reports of Deloitte 2024, it looks at consumer trends in everyday things that show they're changing over the years. Instead of just making prices higher, they're now trying to sell more stuff in ways that make more money. This means better ads to reach the right shoppers, being smart about growing their business, and sometimes joining up with other companies. The coming year’s trends will see companies optimizing their profitable grower status through what is known as profitable volume. This involves keeping a close eye on volume growth, a more profitable product mix, while higher investment in core brands is leading to increasing pricing power. Companies also need to focus on supply chain stability and enhanced data capabilities.

The Industry Shifts from Price to Profitable Volume (2024)

  • Consumers are increasingly willing to pay less, with increasing consumer bifurcation into haves and have-nots’. Retailers have also become more resistance to price changes with higher prices creating competition from novel substitutes. Price has increased so much on many items, especially in food and beverage that consumers may be looking to fulfill old needs in new ways by creating unexpected competition for consumer product companies. The proprietary food and beverage industry is increasingly competing with fast food and quick-serve restaurants that offer. Consumers are increasingly looking to see sustainable, natural, organic, and healthy foods and beverages, with ties to clean labelling, driven by wanting to avoid ‘ultra-processed’ food.
  • Several things are shaping the future of consumer trends in 2025. What happens in the economy is a key factor. Also, new technology like artificial intelligence and the rising popularity of health-focused products could change what people want to buy. New rules and the growing importance of online shopping, shifting customer tastes, and caring for the environment are other big trends that companies need to pay attention to. These ideas together offer a helpful guide for companies that want to grow and stay strong in a world that's constantly changing.

Nothing more exciting happening here in terms of content, but just filling up the space to make it look, at least at first glance, a bit more representative of how this would look in a real-world application.
